Stroopwafels

Crispy thin golden waffle, pressed and baked, then split open while still warm and filled with a ribbon of dark caramel syrup - that's a stroopwafel. The syrup, made from brown sugar, butter, and spice, gets sandwiched between the wafers and left to set just enough to hold its shape.

The real magic happens when you rest one over a hot cup of coffee or tea.
